Save the Children donates COVID-19 PPEs in Gaza

As part of its efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Save the Children delivered a range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Gaza Provincial Health Directorate today, 23 October.

SECURING EDUCATION IN COVID-19 TIMES: THE CASE OF THE NORAD PROJECT

Schools were the first to feel the impact of COVID-19 in Mozambique. Their closure was just before the first State of Emergency was declared on March 22nd. Save the Children immediately embarked on a reflection marathon to allow classes to continue for children who could not be reached by alternative means indicated by the Government (Internet, radio and television). The NORAD Project, in Manica, outlined, together with the local Government, a strategy that allowed more than five thousand children to continue studying, despite the adversities.

ASSEGURANDO A EDUCAÇÃO EM TEMPOS DE COVID-19: O CASO DO PROJECTO NORAD

As escolas foram as primeiras a sentir o impacto da COVID-19 em Moçambique. Seu encerramento aconteceu pouco antes de ser declarado o primeiro Estado de Emergência, no dia 22 de Março. Logo a seguir, a Save the Children embarcou numa maratona de reflexão para permitir a continuidade das aulas para as crianças que não podiam ser alcançadas pelos meios alternativos indicados pelo Governo (Internet, rádio e televisão). O Projecto NORAD, em Manica, traçou, junto com o Governo local, uma estratégia que permitiu que mais de cinco mil crianças continuassem a estudar, não obstante as adversidades.

A semana passada foi de grande júbilo para a Sociedade Civil moçambicana, em especial para as que trabalham na área dos direitos da criança. A proeza se deve à submissão de três (3) relatórios temáticos às Nações Unidas.
