170 TARPAULINS TO MINIMIZE THE STORM EFFECTS IN MANICA

Save the Children in Manica province, central Mozambique, donated yesterday, October 22, about 170 tarpaulins in response to the National Institute for Disaster Management (INGC) request for support to minimize the damage caused by the October 10 thunderstorm in that part of Mozambique.

SECURING EDUCATION IN COVID-19 TIMES: THE CASE OF THE NORAD PROJECT

Schools were the first to feel the impact of COVID-19 in Mozambique. Their closure was just before the first State of Emergency was declared on March 22nd. Save the Children immediately embarked on a reflection marathon to allow classes to continue for children who could not be reached by alternative means indicated by the Government (Internet, radio and television). The NORAD Project, in Manica, outlined, together with the local Government, a strategy that allowed more than five thousand children to continue studying, despite the adversities.
