‘I want to be a teacher’ Lonjezo Max, a 10 years old boy

Save the Children, through a project on integrated services for Education, Health and nutrition and Child Protection is working with teachers in 10 schools with 5 being in Morrumbala and 5 in Milange with the vision of empowering them with more knowledge to improve reading and writing in primary classes (grade 1 to 3). For the purpose that the teachers are in capacity to adopt interactive methodologies that transmit knowledge to the students.

Community Action to Promote Literacy: – Educating Children Together (ECT2) Mozambique –

As part of our efforts to improve reading skills for school-aged children, the ECT2 will both  acquire and produce a total of 15,000 short story titles for distribution  in 150 target schools. So far, 9,227 short stories (61.5%) have been distributed. Now children, teachers and community members will have access to these short stories and enjoy them in schools, reading camps and at home. Children will read these books alone or with the support of friends, brothers or sisters, parents and other caregivers.

Save the Children promove campos de leitura em Manica

Cerca de 2267 crianças, das quais 754 do sexo feminino e de 15 escolas do distrito de Gondola, em Manica, estão a beneficiar de uma actividade de promoção de leitura e escrita nos campos de leitura, parte integrante da Açcão comunitária incluída no programa Norad que está a ser implementado pela Save the Children e consiste em formar grupos de leitura dentro das comunidades, onde crianças seleccionadas nas escolas são organizadas em grupos de seis a oito, durante 1h30 fora do horário de aulas.
