Constância Armando Gervásio is a girl aged 16 years and daughter to Gervásio Armando and Maria Katunga. She hails from Chabualo community in the district of Angonia, Tete province and has been attending the Chabualo Distance Learning Center since February 2019. The community is 32 km from the Administrative Post of Úlonguè, in the district of Angónia.

From Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12 pm, a five-year-old girl joins a group of others aged 3-5. Together they experience the miracle of deciphering the letters of the alphabet and solving basic mathematical problems. For the past three years, the life of Dalfa Pascoal, from Cuco locality, Manjacaze district, in the southern province of Gaza, Mozambique, has been following this routine for the last two years.

A Save the Children initiative on the use of local stories to promote children's literacy and writing could be capitalized at national level in the context of bilingual education. This initiative consists on the use of small books containing local oral tradition stories that Save the Children has been testing under its Sponsorship educational program in Nacala-Porto and Nacala-à-Velha in Nampula province, northern Mozambique.
