Em reacção aos dados recentemente divulgados pelo Ministério da Educação e Desenvolvimento Humano, que indicam que três mil meninas abandonaram a escola em 2017 devido à gravidez, o Director do Banco Mundial em Moçambique, Mark Lundell, publicou um artigo de opinião com o título “O que fazer com as 3.000 meninas que abandonaram a escola por causa da gravidez?”no qual defende a revogação do Despacho 39/GM/2003.

Save the Children, through a project on integrated services for Education, Health and nutrition and Child Protection is working with teachers in 10 schools with 5 being in Morrumbala and 5 in Milange with the vision of empowering them with more knowledge to improve reading and writing in primary classes (grade 1 to 3). For the purpose that the teachers are in capacity to adopt interactive methodologies that transmit knowledge to the students.

Combomune rio, a small village with 1.018 family holders and 4.073 inhabitants. It is situated in the district of Mabalne in the North of Gaza province-Mozambique and it is about 10km away from the nearest reference health center(Combomune). From this point, it is 50 km far from the District headquarter’s health centre. The name “Rio” is due to the fact that this community lies along Limpopo river line, so it is good for agriculture. It does not have means of transport and its population is obliged to walk 10 kms for health services.
