Maternidades em Sofala acreditadas como “Modelo”

Em reconhecimento aos serviços de qualidade prestados, as maternidades do Hospital Distrital de Caia e do Centro de Saúde de Macurungo (Cidade da Beira), em Sofala foram  acreditada como “modelo” pela Primeira-dama de Moçambique, Isaura Nyusi, em Agosto de 2017 e Agosto de 2018, respectivamente .

Cleaning Wells Prevents Spread of Diarrheal Diseases in the Community

Assumane Abudo, member of the Cabaceira Pequena Community Health Committee in Nampula province, never gave any importance to cleaning wells. Other residents in the community did not either; however, when the community began to notice a high incidence of diarrhea cases, resulting in diarrheal diseases and even deaths, they began to reconsider their approach.

How Communities are Taking Action against Garbage in Mozambique

For years, Rosa Sozinho and her six children did not pay attention to the trash that littered their neighborhood. Besides contributing to the growing pile of garbage, they didn’t understand how dangerous this was to their health. “I thought that because I was throwing the garbage far away from my house it would not have an influence on my children's health,” said Rosa.

Community Action to Promote Literacy: – Educating Children Together (ECT2) Mozambique –

As part of our efforts to improve reading skills for school-aged children, the ECT2 will both  acquire and produce a total of 15,000 short story titles for distribution  in 150 target schools. So far, 9,227 short stories (61.5%) have been distributed. Now children, teachers and community members will have access to these short stories and enjoy them in schools, reading camps and at home. Children will read these books alone or with the support of friends, brothers or sisters, parents and other caregivers.
